There are two Toronto blogs I tried to follow:
I found that I can’t keep up with both effectively. Just takes too much time, and there’s a lot of duplication between the two. I’ve taken to following BlogTo. Not sure why – I think I’m a fan of the morning brew.
But now BlogTo has let me down twice – if it wasn’t for kev and Torontoist I wouldn’t have learned about the Ballroom Dancing last weekend, or the Air Guitar Championships coming up.
The only solution: have kevin as a friend. Guess I’m stuck with him. Hrmph.

last year i stopped two random people to ask them about their glasses – and that’s random with a capital R. One was a stranger Lululemon, and the other at circus school. In any case, they had both bought their glasses from the same store – Optic Zone.
Now, i have had the same glasses since 2003. That was, until i lost them last month on my business travels (i think i left them in the hotel room. the hotel doesn’t agree [and for what it’s worth I lost the pair before that on an airplane. stupid travels]). So I finally had a reason to go to Optic Zone.
The amazing thing was, as much as I had built up the store in my head, the selection was BETTER than I ever could have imagined. I spent an hour trying on frames and then another while deciding. I had a REALLY tough time but ended up with an AMAZING pair. And now I have to wait patiently for them to be ready on Thursday.
Then I have to try not to lose them.
Wow. I just blogged a commercial. I really am procrastinating. But seriously, if anyone wants to go glasses shopping let me know. Then I can impulsively buy one of the other pairs I was in love with.

I have the Mondays. And they’re pretty severe. I can’t think of the last time I had them this bad.
I am afraid that the only cure is a case of the Saturdays.
And Saturday is a long time from now. *sigh*

I’m sitting in Cafe Aroma which just opened on the North West Corner of Albany and Bloor . Free wi-fi, good music and good food! Fun treat for a Friday afternoon (I have yet to try the coffee).
This is quite a caffeinated intersection: besides aroma, there’s a Starbucks on the North East Corner and Second Cup is on the South East Corner.
But the South West Corner is still free – anyone want to open a Timmy’s with Baron and I?

Know how sometimes when you give a kid a gift the kid is more excited with the box than the actual present itself? Well, that’s what last night was all about. The Michael Lee-Chin Crystal opened at (in? on?) the Royal Ontario Museum.
It was a free ticketed events with tickets to be given out after 12 PM. By 11 AM there were more than 300 people in line. When I went to check it out, at one, the line was about 4 hours long. I didn’t have the time to wait and accepted my defeat.
But last night at around 1:30 we ventured over to the museum if only to “feel the vibe”. Who knew there would be a crystal miracle that night! As we stood next to the line of patrons, a woman approached me and handed me two tickets. I nearly cried with joy (especially for not having waited for 4 hours in the swealtering heat).
We frolicked through the museum from about 2:15 until 4:30 when my friends said it was time to go home. I was still going strong.
We explored the foxholes. We lay around, gazing at the stars and making new friends. And we played in the bat cave. Can’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday night (Sunday morning).
I love toronto*. And last night it was a mad passionate love that boardered on lust. What an amazing night.
*except when sitting in traffic

Customs officers at Cairo’s airport have detained a man bound for Saudi Arabia who was trying to smuggle 700 live snakes on a plane, airport authorities said. (Link)
Who knew someone would find Snakes on a Plane that inspiring anyway?

i like facebook too much. so last week i decided i would not login to facebook from work anymore.
this has worked pretty well so far. yes, i get an occasional email letting me know about a message or comment on a photo. and until today i’ve been okay with that. (side note: i don’t get emails for things like wall-posts and whatnot because that was just too much spam)
but there’s something up today. people keep commenting on photos i’m in, and i’m curious. what are these new photos? why are they worthy of so much comment?
i’m so stopping on the way home from work at my parents house since I don’t think i can make it the whole way home not knowing.
*sigh* i’m so lame.
