Waterloo smells like horse shit.
Fed Hall smells like a bath house.
If it wasn’t for Bomber, there’s no way I’d make it through the term.

i love it that i’m home and my parents are still out ‘stargazing’ at the Four Seasons. yes, they’ve decided to sit in the lobby of the hotel and see who shows up (why aren’t they being stopped? well, i guess in canada no one expects people to behave like Americans :P)

so far they’ve spotted Denzel Washington (Mom was on the elevator with him), Dylan McDermott and some chick whose name i can’t remember. i think i’ll go and call for an update…

moving stuff up to the land of the loo today.
not sure when i’m taking up permanent residence – either sat or sun.

that’s all i have to say right now. I’m just typing something so that i don’t get in trouble from him.

In case you can’t tell, I really get a kick out of google image searching.
So, like most normal people, I decided to google my name.
I have no idea who that is. Do you?

So, I decide I want to know my class schedule for this term (I don’t remember it offhand) so I go to log into Quest this morning.

Firstly, why isn’t there a link to the login page of Quest right off of the main waterloo website?
Then I find out I can’t find out my schedule, because Quest is only opperational from “4:00pm to midnight on Sunday.” It’s like Quest wants some sort of sleep in or something. Whatever!

Now I’m at a computer, and it’s between the valid hours.
Can I find out my schedule? Of course not! But what I do get is:

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a01f4'

Variable is undefined: 'jmac'

/quest/user/GlobalJmac/ha_user_info.vbs, line 34

I *heart* Waterloo. We are just sooo totally tech savvy.

and back in toronto.

so about that blackout… it happened as we entered the city (my dad called me on my cell with a “do you know what’s going on?” – of course i did not)

then, to cover each city block took a half hour. So our 4.5 hour trip lasted about 8 hours total.

then we had to walk to our hotel in the pitch black, and carry the bags up 6 flights of stairs. not to mention the heat. and the fact that we hadn’t eaten since before the bus so we had to have hot dogs from vendors (at $3 a pop).

we saw times square in the dark which was neato. guys driving around with signs that said “Thanks Canada!” – so i told them Karl was Canadian 🙂 Tried to stay up to see the lights go on, but gave up around midnight and went to bed…

i’m starting to ramble.

oh well, at least if i went home to toronto i would have had the same problems… AND i got to see RENT (fourth time, but first on broadway!) and Avenue Q! i *heart* NY.

Here’s an article about extreme blue from PC mag. Total Recall (aka Total Rehab) is a project from my lab and those dudes are my friends. It’s funny cause Bolin told me that him and Raudel have been contacted by Google now – and they think it’s as a result of that article.

In other news, I’m off to NY and then onto DC. Be home on the 20th!
