I lied
I’m not going to be thrilled just to run on the weekend. I’m cranky that I trained all winter outside in the snow and cold and am [likely] not going to be 100% by the time this weekend’s race rolls around. Breaking 2 hours seemed like such a good goal – so downgrading my expectations to just finishing is a big let down.
But I’m trying to stay positive.
Side note: I haven’t been able to exercise ALL WEEKEND which for sure has something to do with the major case of the Crankies I can’t seem to shake.

I can feel your pain. It sounds terribly frustrating. Just remember that there will always be another race. And if you use the base that you’ve formed for this round, you are miles ahead for your next training regime! Probably doesn’t make you feel much better now, but it’s another way of looking on the bright side of things… Hey… maybe we could run a half marathon together? Is there one coming up in the middle or end of the summer?

Sounds frustrating. I don’t know if this will help transfer the pain to your parents or not but…. https://www.billmyparents.com/

you guys are funny.
heather – i’m thinking about the Toronto marathon or maybe doing one in London (ontario). going from doing 1 last year to 3 this year does seem a little ambitious!! thoughts?
stephen – my mom will for sure find billmykids.com and then i’ll be more guilty (and in debt).

Hi Jenn! Love your website layout. Fellow Torontonian here… are you running Ottawa this weekend?
Sorry to hear that you aren’t in tip top shape. It’s so frustrating to train through a Canadian winter and then have problems when it’s nice out (speaking from experience).
Good luck and have fun!

Hey Marlene! I read your blog — Lorilee introduced me to it (I actually just took her blog off my sidebar since she doesn’t update anymore!) when I was training last summer 🙂
Glad you like the layout! It’s been this way for awhile… I think I’ll need to make some updates when I have some time. At least link in Twitter or something.
Yup, heading to ottawa for the weekend. If you see me, say hi – you’ll know it’s me because I’ll be the one running with a box of Kleenex. Hehe. Wonder how I could attach that to my hydration belt…

3 does seem ambitious, but totally do-able. Once you get one down, the rest just seem so much easier afterwards. Ok… well, not EASY, but easier than the first painful experience…
I’d be keen for either race. Toronto seems like it would be lots of fun, but if we did London, we could stay with my grandma the night before and she’d take nice good care of us 🙂
