At the end of last year, Baron and I each invested in a new toy.
So, this year, in an attempt to take more pictures and learn new tricks, Baron and I decided to start a “project 365” where we take a picture a day. But, as baron points out the “problem is, we’re both too lazy and half-assed to keep it up for a whole year. The solution? Split it.”

after spending two weeks with only 4 gigs of music (thanks to my mom for lending me her nano) i knew it wasn’t sustainable.
yes, i had checked the gym before i left, but the staff person i checked with was a substitute (the actual staff was on vacation) and couldn’t get into the drawers. today was my first day back to working out after vaca. i went to the desk and asked the staff person if she had seen an ipod.
and she had. i gave her a hug.

I might be going crazy on an every other day basis.
Today it’s the iPod. And it’s not in my purse.
today my plan was to work from home. i had an appointment midmorning, and then a houseguest arriving from Winnipeg in the afternoon, so it made sense for me to stay here.
but this morning when i went to set myself up, i didn’t have my power supply. so i realized i needed to drive into work to pick it up.
fine. i’d go after my appointment at 11:30, and be home by 12:30.
not the case. it took 40 minutes to get from Avenue to the DVP along bloor. Then the DVP was a disaster, so I got off at Don Mills north. But Don Mills was a disaster so I turned to go south. And got lost. Very lost.
it seems i don’t have friends with day jobs (and the ones i do aren’t my friends anymore because they didn’t answer my calls) so i ended up calling my father to google map my way to familiar territory.
after that frustrating conversation (“no dad, i don’t have a “TO” address, i just want you to find where i am on the map”, “NO dad, click and drag to move the map around”, “NO dad i cannot calm down”), i found myself northbound on victoria park.
i arrived at work 2 hours later.
and then my power supply wasn’t there.
so, more than three hours after i started my journey north, i got home and was working with the loaner power supply i got from the office. i am going mental.
(i’ve since located the power supply. it was in my purse all along, in case you were curious.)
the worst part about this mental health day is that i’ve spent the entire day GOING mental. i always thought they were to help preserve sanity. so clearly i should take an official one tomorrow to recover.
i finally did it and got myself a DSLR. [many] pictures to follow…
When Normal People pack for a tropical vacation, they pack things like bathing suits and sunscreen (possibly oil, depending on their complexion), shorts and tanktops.
I pack 60+ sunscreen, long sleeves/pants, wide brimmed hats, cortisone cream, and antihistamine.
The sun is my nemesis. If I ever tell you that you are my sunshine, don’t take it as a compliment.

i gave up belly dancing a few months back for numerous reasons.
there’s a shakira special on tv, and it’s making me regret it.
they have a toy drive going on at work. someone donated a newly wrapped, cute hello kitty stuffed animal. i want it.
is it wrong if i take it and replace it with another gift? another two gifts?
sigh. that’s what i thought. but i figured it was worth checking.
