Call me ethnocentric, but I am not a fan of making food on newspapers. Not a big fan of that inky flavour. People of Japan: consider wax paper instead.

Dear Jennifer, Wow! I’m pretty up to date now! I am loving this! But I’m not sure about the rolling the dough on newspaper…it reminds me of silly putty, except you’re eating it. Oh well, whats a few Japanese news photos printed on your noodles, compared to a moss burger. Love, Lynda

it didn’t stick to the newspaper — there was flour all over it.
the newspaper was important for cutting because the sheets we were cutting were bigger than a typical cutting board.
