vacation is fast approaching. i do enjoy my twice weekly spin classes, so was thinking about taking a spin class on the boat. but my instructor told me that when he cruises, he just uses the bike and does his own thing. sounded novel – and no waking up early required.
but i’m no spin instructor. so what’s a girl to do? why google of course!
i’ve already found two websites (one, two) that have the music and instructions for a class, as well as several others (one, two, three) with the playlist and instructions.
and as a bonus i found an indie music workout podcast! wOOt!
now i just need to find time to download them all. and motivate myself to spin.

I caught an article about how tourists are going to be banned from tsukiji fish market (at least temporarily). Two thoughts:
- sucks for all the folks who are going to visit Tokyo and not be able to see the crazy Tuna auctions (and other fish)
- i’m glad I’ve been there 🙂
(Seems to be during my pre-flickr days, so none of my own pics to embed)

this morning I came in to work to find a slew of emails in my inbox that are all variations on the “not feeling well, working from home.” Last week there was a lot of coughing, but everyone felt well enough to work from here – which means that my office is probably full of people who are not sick enough to stay home, but plenty sick to infect a coworker.
I’m not a hypochondriac, but I do like being healthy. So I’m going to do the smart thing and work from home this afternoon. I think my note will say: “Working from home this afternoon so that I don’t catch what you all have”.

Yesterday I went to Baron’s cube and started dancing. Baron was like “did you have coffee?” Busted. 10 minutes before I had a small cup of coffee from Timmy’s. But then I got a great amount of work done.
This morning I decided to have another cup. Here’s what happened:
- 8:40: Jenn gets cup of coffee
- 8:47: Jenn spills most of the coffee across her desk
- 9:22: Jenn notices self galloping down the hallway
Coffee is fun. I think I’ll try a medium cup this afternoon.

But this makes me angry. Dubbed a “Keyboard for Blondes”, this item is pretty infuriating. The best part:
The “F” keys across the top spell out “Useless keys.”
Frankly, I find it insulting. Though, maybe I don’t get it because I’m a brunette.

Yup, that’s my finishing time (chip, not gun) for my first half marathon. Not too shabby.
I definitely owe you a post on the race. It’s coming. In the meantime, here’s an awesome picture of me at around the 8k mark:

4/5 of the weather sites I checked predict showers for early tomorrow AM. do you think early is before, like, 6:45? fingers crossed the the weather network is right.
in other news, my shirt now says jenn in big pink letters. it was a pain in the butt, so that might be all it says. but it looks great! and in 24 hours now i’ll be running in it!!

i picked up my race package.
and went on a bit of a shopping spree – a pair of souvenir socks, a new running shirt, and two bras. woohoo! i had to leave the expo so that i’d stop spending money (and because i had to get back to work)
i’m bib number 8600. it has my name on it too! but i’m going to write it on my shirt too since, you know, i want to.
also, the university fair is going on at the convention centre right now. high school students EVERYWHERE. hehe.

as the race draws nearer, my eye is on the prize.
no, not finishing the race, but BRUNCH after the race. i’m insanely excited to eat a post race meal and have spent the week mulling over where I want to go. what if i want something sweet? what if i want something savoury? what if i want thai food? ahhh!
so yes, that’s what i’m busy worrying about today.
and putting my name on my shirt. i have fabric markers (bought on monday) but haven’t been brave enough to actually do it yet…
in 48 hours from now i’ll (hopefully) be sitting down for a post race brunch! Wahoo!!!
